Allison M. Kovacs still has the beautifully illustrated book of fairy tales her mother bought her as a child. She draws inspiration from the folklore of her own cultures as well as the many shrines she stumbled upon while living in Japan. She absolutely recommends that everyone come across at least one unexpected fox statue in the middle of the night, particularly with a grumpy cat sleeping at its base.
