Narrator Nick Podehl returns to provide an expert performance of the third audiobook in the Arcane Ascension series, in which characters learn spells, pass tests, and battle monsters at a school for magic. This installment takes all of those fun elements abroad as the crew visits Caelford in search of more training and adventure. Podehl is a great pairing for the main character, Corin, who alternates between the hesitancy of an awkward teenager and the masterful dialogue of an academic. Podehl strikes the right balance between drama and overdoing it, giving the story an earnest vibrancy and the characters loads of personality.
